Fire Fall Tournament Information:

The Fire will be comprised of 24 elite players from Charlotte, Matthews, North Carolina and other Mecklenburg and Union County surrounding areas. This summer, Turn and Burn's latest travel team addition was the Fire, and we have had a great experience so far with players from both North and South Carolina. We want to continue to keep this U13 group together for Fall tournaments as well as Winter tournaments.

Coaching Staff:

Head Coach: Jim Hull will be the head coach of the U13 Team. Jim grew up outside of Syracuse, NY before making the move down to Charlotte. Having grown up around lacrosse he soon found a way to become involved with Charlotte's lacrosse scene. He has been involved with Providence High School's Lacrosse program for the past six years, including their State Championship run in 2009.

Offensive Coordinator:  Rob Horrigan will be directing the offense for the Fire. Rob has years of experience playing some of the most competitive youth and high school lacrosse growing up in Severna Park, MD. He went on to play D-I, graduating from Towson University.  After graduation Rob became one of the youngest head coaches in D-III history when he started York College's program. He then made the move to Belmont Abbey to start their D-II program and become the 2006 "Deep South Conference Coach of the year".

Midfielders: Randy Jones will be in charge of the midfield play, as well as assisting with the offensive strategy. Randy grew up playing lacrosse in Bel Air, MD. He joined Queens University's program during its second year and immediately made an impact; receiving both the Most Improved Player and Coaches Award within his first two years. Randy was then the Team Captain for his final two seasons at Queens. Currently Randy is a graduate assistant at Queens University, pursuing his MBA through Queens' McColl School of Business.

Defensive Coordinator: Luke Kannor will be in charge of the defense. Luke started his lacrosse career in Yarmouth, ME playing middle school and Freshman year of high school there before moving to Idaho. He joined the first recruiting class Division II Queens University ever had. Within four years at Queens he had made his impact as a starter, helping take Queens to the CVAC Championship and finishing first place twice in the regular season. Since graduation Luke has been working with Turn and Burn trying to help grow lacrosse in the Charlotte area.

Goalies: Joel Heimbigner will be the goalie coach and defensive assistant. Joel grew up in San Diego, California where he won the state Championship in 2002 at Poway High School. He was also a part of the first recruiting class at Queens and immediate success they enjoyed. He was a three-year captain at Queens, earning defensive MVP honors two years. Joel has also been coaching with Turn and Burn since it has been in Charlotte, helping goalies get the attention and individual work they need.

Player Requirements:

Turn and Burn is looking for elementary and middle school players who are serious about playing competitive lacrosse in the spring and want to continue playing high competition through the summer. Our goal is to help develop and expose a younger age group to quality lacrosse so that by the time they reach HS they will already have a better understanding of the game and the transition for the players into high school will be seamless. This team will be comprised of 20-24 players who want to compete against better talent nationwide. We will compete in tournaments year-round, but the majority of the playing will be in the summer.
